Jungle & Savannah – Booking Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 31/08/2026
These Booking Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to bookings made with Jungle & Savannah [LTD], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [16803346], whose registered office is at [8 Pike Close, Folkestone, UK] (“Jungle & Savannah”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
About These Terms
Jungle & Savannah designs, arranges and guides tailor-made journeys, safaris and travel experiences to destinations worldwide.
While many of our journeys are focused on Africa and its wildlife and wilderness destinations, these Terms are not limited to travel within Africa. They apply to all destinations and travel arrangements booked with Jungle & Savannah unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
Depending on your individual itinerary, your journey may include accommodation, private guiding, wildlife experiences, transfers, road transport, rail journeys, boats, light aircraft, scheduled flights, excursions and other travel services.
Some journeys may involve remote destinations, wildlife encounters, adventurous activities or travel in areas where infrastructure and medical facilities differ considerably from those available at home. Other journeys may involve conventional hotels, resorts, cities or private touring.
The provisions within these Terms relating specifically to safaris, wildlife, remote travel or particular activities will apply only where those elements form part of your itinerary.
Please read these Terms carefully before making a booking.
By confirming a booking with us, the Lead Traveller confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms on behalf of themselves and all persons named on the booking.
Our journeys are individually designed, and we encourage every guest to read their itinerary, proposal and these Terms carefully and to contact us with any questions before confirming their arrangements.
1. Your Contract With Us
A booking is made when:
you have confirmed that you wish to proceed with the proposed itinerary;
you have paid the applicable deposit or other amount requested by us; and
we have issued you with written booking confirmation.
At that point, a binding contract will exist between you and Jungle & Savannah.
The person making the booking (“Lead Traveller”) must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for ensuring that all travellers named on the booking are aware of and agree to these Terms.
The Lead Traveller is also responsible for ensuring that information supplied to us for all members of the travelling party is complete and accurate.
2. Your Journey
Every Jungle & Savannah journey is designed around the individual requirements of our clients.
Your confirmed itinerary will set out the principal services included in your booking, which may include accommodation, safari activities, private guides, excursions, transfers, internal or regional flights, rail travel, boats, meals and other travel arrangements.
Only those services specifically stated as included in your confirmed itinerary are included in the price.
International flights, visas, vaccinations, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenditure and other items are excluded unless expressly stated otherwise.
3. Prices
The price of your journey will be confirmed in writing before you make your booking.
Prices may be quoted in Pounds Sterling, US Dollars, Euros or another currency depending upon the arrangements concerned.
Once your booking has been confirmed, any alteration to the price will only be made where permitted by applicable law and these Terms.
Where applicable, your quotation will explain any circumstances in which currency movements, government taxes, tourism levies, park or conservation fees, fuel costs or other permitted changes may affect the final price.
4. Deposits and Payment
Unless otherwise stated in your proposal or booking confirmation, a deposit of 30% of the total booking price is required to confirm your journey.
The remaining balance is due 90 days before departure.
Bookings made within 90 days of departure will normally require payment in full at the time of booking.
Supplier-Specific Payment Terms
Some of the hotels, lodges, camps, airlines, cruise operators, ground operators, destination management companies and other specialist suppliers we work with may require different payment terms.
This may include a higher deposit, an earlier balance payment, staged payments or payment in full at the time of booking.
Where a supplier's payment terms differ from our standard terms, we may need to apply equivalent payment terms to the relevant part, or where necessary the whole, of your booking.
Where this applies, we will make the relevant payment requirements clear to you before you confirm your booking. The payment terms set out in your confirmed proposal or booking confirmation will then apply to your booking.
If any payment is not received by the required date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled by you and apply the applicable cancellation provisions.
5. If You Wish to Change Your Booking
If you wish to change your confirmed arrangements, please contact us as soon as possible. We reserve the right to charge a nominal amount for changes to confirmed bookings.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee that changes will be possible.
You will be responsible for any additional costs charged by airlines, hotels, lodges, camps, ground operators or other suppliers as a result of the requested change, together with any reasonable administration fee notified to you.
Changes requested close to departure may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking where the original arrangements cannot be amended.
6. Transferring Your Booking
Where your booking is subject to the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, you may have the right to transfer your booking to another traveller who satisfies all conditions applicable to the booking.
You must give us reasonable notice of any proposed transfer.
You and the person receiving the transferred booking will be responsible for the outstanding balance and for any reasonable costs actually incurred in making the transfer.
7. If You Cancel Your Journey
If you wish to cancel your booking, the Lead Traveller must notify us in writing. Cancellation will take effect from the date we receive your written notification.
Because we commit funds to hotels, lodges, camps, airlines, ground operators and other suppliers well in advance of travel, cancellation charges will normally apply.
Unless different cancellation terms have been specifically notified to you before booking, our standard cancellation charges are:
More than 90 days before departure: loss of deposit
61–90 days before departure: 50% of the total booking price
31–60 days before departure: 75% of the total booking price
30 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the total booking priceSupplier-Specific Cancellation Terms
Some suppliers impose their own cancellation conditions, which may be more restrictive than our standard terms.
For example, a particular hotel, lodge, camp, airline, cruise operator or other supplier may require a non-refundable deposit or impose a higher cancellation charge from an earlier date.
Where supplier-specific cancellation terms apply to your arrangements, we may need to mirror those terms in the cancellation conditions applying to the relevant part of your booking.
We will tell you about any material supplier-specific payment or cancellation terms before you confirm your booking, and these will be identified in your proposal, booking confirmation or other pre-contract information provided to you.
Any cancellation charge applied by Jungle & Savannah will be subject to applicable law and will reflect the cancellation terms applicable to your booking and the costs and losses arising from the cancellation.
We strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive travel insurance, including appropriate cancellation cover, from the date you confirm your booking.
Nothing in this section affects any rights you may have under applicable package travel legislation, including rights which may arise in the event of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances.
8. If We Change Your Arrangements
Travel arrangements occasionally require flexibility. Weather, natural events, wildlife movements, road conditions, airline schedules, government restrictions, local regulations and other circumstances may require adjustments to an itinerary.
We may make minor changes to your arrangements where necessary and will inform you of material changes as soon as reasonably possible.
If, before departure, we are required to make a significant change to a package booking, we will provide you with the options required under applicable law. Depending upon the circumstances, these may include accepting the revised arrangements, accepting an alternative journey where available, or cancelling and receiving an appropriate refund.
9. If We Have to Cancel Your Journey
We reserve the right to cancel a booking where it is necessary to do so.
Where we cancel your booking, we will provide the remedies required under applicable law, which may include offering suitable alternative arrangements or providing a refund.
Different provisions may apply where cancellation results from unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances beyond our control.
We will not cancel a confirmed package after the applicable statutory deadline because minimum participation numbers have not been reached unless this possibility and the relevant minimum number were disclosed to you before booking.
10. Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances
Travel sometimes involves circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Jungle & Savannah or our suppliers.
These may include, without limitation, war or threat of war, civil unrest, terrorism or its consequences, natural disasters, epidemics or significant health risks, government action, border closures, significant transport disruption, adverse weather, fire, flooding, industrial disputes or other events which could not reasonably have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.
Your rights and our obligations in these circumstances will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of your particular booking.
11. Passports, Visas and Entry Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring that you and all members of your party hold valid passports, visas, permits and any other documentation required for your journey.
Entry requirements can change at short notice and may differ according to nationality, residency, destination, transit point and individual circumstances.
We may provide general information or assistance regarding entry requirements, but you remain responsible for confirming the requirements applicable to your circumstances with the appropriate authorities.
We cannot accept responsibility for a traveller being unable to travel because they do not possess the correct documentation, except where this results from information we were legally required to provide and failed to provide correctly.
12. Health, Vaccinations and Medical Requirements
Certain destinations may involve health risks, remote locations or limited access to medical facilities.
You are responsible for obtaining appropriate professional medical advice regarding vaccinations, medications, malaria prevention where applicable and other health precautions relevant to your destination.
You should inform us before booking of any requirement or circumstance which may materially affect your ability to participate in the proposed arrangements so that we can assess whether reasonable arrangements can be made.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requirements but cannot guarantee that every hotel, lodge, camp, aircraft, vehicle, vessel or activity will be suitable for every traveller.
13. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all Jungle & Savannah clients and may be made a condition of booking for certain itineraries.
Your policy should be appropriate for your destination and the activities included in your journey and should normally include cover for:
medical treatment and emergency evacuation;
repatriation;
trip cancellation and curtailment;
lost or delayed baggage;
travel disruption; and
any safari, adventure, water-based or other specialist activities included in your itinerary.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your insurance provides adequate cover for your particular circumstances.
14. Safaris, Wildlife and Specialist Activities
Where your journey includes a safari, wildlife experience or other specialist activity, you acknowledge that such experiences take place in natural environments and may involve an inherent degree of unpredictability.
Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
Activities may include game drives, walking safaris, trekking, boating, canoeing, horse riding, light aircraft flights and other experiences which may carry risks beyond those normally encountered in everyday life.
You must comply with reasonable safety instructions given by guides, camp managers, pilots, activity providers and other responsible persons.
A guide or supplier may prevent a guest from participating in an activity where they reasonably believe participation would create a safety risk to that guest or others.
15. Remote and Adventure Travel
Some Jungle & Savannah journeys take place in remote wilderness areas or destinations where infrastructure differs considerably from that available at home.
Roads may be rough, communications may be limited, medical facilities may be distant and journeys may involve small aircraft, boats, four-wheel-drive vehicles or other specialist transport.
By booking an itinerary containing these elements, you acknowledge the nature of this style of travel.
We will nevertheless exercise the level of care and responsibility required of us under applicable law when selecting and arranging the services included in your booking.
16. Flights and Transport
Flights and other transportation included in your itinerary may be operated by independent third-party carriers.
Small aircraft, charter flights and other specialist transport may be subject to particular baggage, weight or operational restrictions. We will communicate relevant restrictions to you where appropriate.
Flight times, routes and transport arrangements may change for operational, weather or safety reasons.
Where international conventions or applicable laws govern or limit the liability of a carrier, those provisions may also affect the extent of our liability where permitted by law.
17. Accommodation
Accommodation standards and classifications vary considerably between countries and destinations.
Descriptions and classifications are based on our assessment and/or those of the relevant supplier or local tourism authority and may not correspond exactly with classifications used in your home country.
In wilderness destinations, camps and lodges may be unfenced and wildlife may move freely through the property. Where this applies, guests must follow all safety instructions given by staff and must not approach or interfere with wild animals.
18. Conduct
We want every guest to enjoy their journey safely and respectfully.
You are expected to behave responsibly towards other guests, staff, local communities, wildlife, cultural sites and the environment.
We reserve the right, acting reasonably, to terminate the arrangements of a traveller whose behaviour presents a genuine danger to themselves or others, causes serious disruption or damage, or is unlawful.
No refund will normally be payable for services lost as a result of such conduct, subject always to applicable law.
19. Our Responsibility to You
Where we are the organiser of a package within the meaning of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, we accept responsibility for the proper performance of the travel services included in that package as required by those Regulations.
We will not be responsible for a failure in the performance of travel services where, and to the extent that, the failure is attributable to:
you or another member of your party;
an unconnected third party and the event was unforeseeable or unavoidable; or
unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances,
in each case subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Where permitted by law, compensation for damage other than personal injury may be subject to the limitations permitted under applicable package travel legislation and relevant international conventions.
20. Our Suppliers
We work with carefully selected independent hotels, safari camps, lodges, airlines, guides, cruise operators, destination management companies, ground handlers and other travel providers throughout the world.
Those suppliers may have their own terms and conditions applicable to the services they provide.
Copies of relevant supplier terms can be made available upon request where applicable.
Where we sell or arrange a service solely as an agent for another supplier rather than as part of a package organised by Jungle & Savannah, we will make this clear to you before the booking is made.
21. Problems During Your Journey
If you experience a problem during your journey, please tell the relevant hotel, lodge, camp, guide, representative or other supplier immediately and contact Jungle & Savannah as soon as reasonably possible.
Giving us notice while you are travelling gives us the opportunity to help resolve the problem.
We will provide reasonable assistance to travellers in difficulty where required under applicable package travel legislation.
Emergency and local contact details applicable to your journey will be provided with your travel documentation.
22. Complaints
If a problem has not been resolved during your journey, please contact us in writing after your return:

Details of the applicable insolvency protection, trust arrangement, insurance, bonding and/or ATOL protection, where relevant, will be available before your booking is confirmed on request.
24. ATOL and Flights
Where Jungle & Savannah sells an international flight-inclusive package requiring ATOL protection, the applicable ATOL information and legally required wording will be provided before the booking is concluded and included in the relevant booking documentation.
Where your international flights are booked independently and are not included in your contract with Jungle & Savannah, those flights will not form part of your Jungle & Savannah booking.
25. Data Protection
We will process personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.
Because of the nature of international travel, it may be necessary to provide certain personal information to suppliers located outside the United Kingdom, including hotels, lodges, airlines, ground handlers and government, immigration, tourism or park authorities.
Please see our separate Privacy Policy for further information about how we collect, use, store and share personal information.
26. Special Requests
Please tell us about any special requests when making your booking.
We will pass reasonable requests to the relevant suppliers and will endeavour to assist wherever possible, but a request will not form part of our contractual obligations unless we have expressly confirmed in writing that it has been accepted.
27. Children
Parents and guardians are responsible for children travelling with them.
Certain properties, activities and destinations have minimum age requirements. We will advise you of known restrictions relevant to your proposed itinerary.
Where children are travelling without both parents or legal guardians, additional documentation may be required by the countries concerned.
28. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and your booking with Jungle & Savannah are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
You may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights which apply to you under applicable law.
29. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The version applicable to your booking will normally be the version provided or made available to you when your booking is confirmed, unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed between us.
